The Gloucester Stage Production of “Master Harold” . . . and the boys received the Independent Reviewers of New England Award for “Best Play–Midsize Company.” Director Benny Sato Ambush was also honored, receiving the award for “Best Director of a Play–Midsize Company.”

Directed by Allyn Burrows, Johnny Lee Davenport opens in William Shakespeare’s ‘Pericles’ on April 17. The show runs at The Modern Theatre at Suffolk University at 525 Washington Street in Boston from April 17 – May 12, 2013.

Johnny Lee Davenport and fellow castmates, McKinley Belcher III, Teagle F. Bougere, Brian D. Coats, De’Lon Grant, Edward James Hyland, Joy Jones, Jeremiah Kissel, Deidra LaWan Starnes, and Julia Watt, were acknowledged for their performances with the the award for Outstanding Ensemble, Resident Play, for The Studio Theatre’s fall 2012 production of Invisible Man.
Also receiving awards for Invisible Man were Christopher McElroen for Director, Resident Play, and Mary Louise Geiger for Lighting Design, Resident Production.
The NBC pilot Hatfields & McCoys, starring Rebecca De Mornay and Virginia Madsen, is currently shooting in Boston. Johnny will be guest starring in the series pilot as Kevin Ford.
